Deeper Wounds LP is a journey through some of the most varied deep drum & bass you will hear this year, and opens up with the crushing techno of Amygdalae, setting an immediate pace to the proceedings before adding a little melodic dubstep with Crown of Thorns. Sumptuous off-key vocals are utilised in Elevated, remixed here by Fizyk, creating a track that cements the electro influences so evident in Razor Point\'s sound. What follows is a great variety of sounds including the crisp strings of How Come It\'s Over, the dark rasping sound of Human Target, a superb bass-heavy collaboration with Radicall for Light of Truth and growling bass stabs punctuating Pareidolia. Poison Kisses mixes things up with piano samples and snappy rhythms before the impossible urgency of Queen Killing drives up the pace. The Blind Piper effortlessly twists atmospheres with waving bass samples before the inimitable John B adds his eletro-trance sounds to Together as One. Genom join the party for the climactic, metallic sounds of Useless Confessions to complete what will be remembered as a superb full-length debut album sweeping the spectrum of deeper drum & bass, certainly not to be missed.
