Competitions and voting
X-2014 will host three major competitions: Music, Graphics and Demo. Competition entries can only be handed in at the compo registration area. This is located in the centre of the party hall below the projector of the big screen. Enno (Burglar) will register your entry personally to the relevant competition. Handing in your entry on USB stick is a hard requirement for all competitions. Entries will be shown using a 1541Ultimate, however, for those who want their demo shown using a real 1541 (seamless turn disk parts come to mind), please hand in your entry on both USB stick and 5.25" disk(s). USB sticks will be returned after copying your entry.
During the competitions you can cast your vote live via Wifi. Upon entering the partyplace you will receive a wristband as a proof of payment. On this wristband you will find an exclusive number that is required to cast your vote. You will receive the login specifics at the partyplace and upon entering your handle/group and number you get access to the voting application.

For the first time in the history of X we have introduced an indoors non smoking policy. The consequence is that many people will be smoking outdoors. We have designated two outdoor smoking areas. In case of bad weather conditions the entrance area to the partyplace will be transformed to an indoor smoking area. We will make sure that we will have sufficient ashtrays and water filled buckets in these smoking areas so you can dispose your cigarettes. Please do not throw them on the ground as we must return the place in its original condition.
Coffee Shop policy in The Netherlands
Most municipalities near the Dutch borders or in the province of where the party place is located do not allow sale of weed in coffeeshops to foreigners (a "weed-pass" is required). Municipalities do have some form of control over this situation, for example coffee shops in the city of Amsterdam still sell to foreigners.
Shuttle Service
For a limited period of time we are offering a shuttle service from the train station Heeze to the party place and vice versa. As we want to efficiently transport people to and from the party place we will drive upon request. So make sure to enter the following telephone in your phone's addressbook: +31 6 137 707 79
When you arrive at the station make sure to hook up with others or give us a call. We will pick you up during the time frames that are specified below. Otherwise you can always come by public transportation.
Friday 24 October from 17:30 until 20:00
Saturday from 11:00 until 13:00
Sunday from 10:00 until 12:00
Please be aware that we only have three drivers/cars available for the shuttle service. This means there is a probability that at some point there will be a waiting time when it's busy.
Checklist
When you bring equipment make sure to bring power extension cables.
Bring Cash Money. We only have a limited supply of change so make sure to have the exact amount of 95 euros ready. Or be prepared to pay a rounded up figure.
Do not tag with permanent markers/stickers/etc. Any damage will be recovered from, and compensated by the offenders.
We offer a bed and a blanket. You need to bring clean sheets or a sleeping bag for a comfortable rest.
Hoeve Nolleken accommodates 150 persons in 25 bedrooms on the ground floor and first floor (download floorplan).
Hoeve ter Hofstad is the largest accommodation of De Hoof and has room for 120 persons in 20 bedrooms on the ground and first floor (download floorplan) .
We offer more than enough beer, wine and soda. There will be breakfast, lunch, dinner and potato chips. If you would like more food, make sure to bring your own (or be prepared to take a taxi or ask a fellow scener to drive you downtown).
